Empowering Excellence in Minority Depository Institutions

MDIs and CDFIs hold the key to financial wellness in minority, immigrant and LMI communities across the nation. These mission-focused institutions specialize in providing access to crucial banking product and services for customers in underserved neighborhoods, and to small businesses.

This afternoon session will kick off with a panel featuring federal bank regulators discussing targeted examinations for MDIs, followed by a timely conversation on expanding MDIs’ presence in the residential mortgage space. Attendees will also participate in a collaborative session on how MDI banks can work together to support their markets, share resources, and strengthen their collective impact.

Speakers include:

  • Betty J. Rudolph, Director, Office of Minority and Community Development Banking, FDIC
  • Misty Mobley, Senior Review Examiner, Office of Minority and Community Development Banking, FDIC
  • Jonathan Rono, Manager, Community Bank Supervision Division of Supervision & Regulation, Federal Reserve Board
  • Stephen Thomas, CEO, FutureWave Finance
